Terms of Use
Last updated: October 2026
These terms cover your use of dat-finance.com, the website of DAT Finance Davis Accounting & Tax ("DAT Finance," "we," "us"), a CPA firm in Sidney, Ohio, owned by Tyler Davis, CPA. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information, and it forms part of these terms.
What this website is
This site describes our services and shares articles and general information about business finance, accounting and tax. It is here to help you learn about us and to get in touch.
Not professional advice
Everything on this site, including articles, examples, numbers and answers on the FAQ page, is general information. It is not accounting, tax, legal or investment advice, and it does not take your specific facts into account. Tax and accounting rules change, and the right answer for your business depends on details we have not seen. Please do not act on anything here without talking to a qualified professional who knows your situation.
Examples marked as illustrative use round numbers and are not drawn from any client.
No client relationship from using the site
Reading this site, sending us a message through it, or calling us does not create a client relationship. A relationship begins only when we both sign an engagement letter that describes the services, the fees and the responsibilities of each side. Please do not send us confidential or sensitive information, such as tax identification numbers, bank account numbers or financial statements, through the website contact form. We will tell you how to send documents securely once we work together.
Pricing
Prices and ranges shown on this site are estimates to help you plan. Your actual fees are set in your engagement letter and may differ based on scope.
Our services are governed by the engagement letter
If you become a client, the engagement letter controls the services we provide. If it conflicts with anything on this site, the engagement letter wins.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use the site to break the law, to interfere with its operation, to try to gain access to parts of it or to systems connected to it that you are not authorized to use, to introduce harmful code, or to collect information from it by automated means in a way that burdens the site. The client portal and any other sign-in areas are for authorized users only, and you are responsible for keeping your sign-in details private.
Our content
The text, articles, graphics, logos and design on this site belong to DAT Finance or its licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may read the site and share links to it. You may quote short portions of our articles with credit and a link back to the original page. You may not copy, republish or sell the content in bulk, or use our name or logo to suggest that we endorse you, without our written permission.
Information you send us
If you send us a message, you agree that the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you have the right to share it. We will use it as described in our Privacy Policy.
Links to other sites
The site links to other websites, including the client portal and sites run by others. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices. A link is not an endorsement.
No warranties
We work to keep the information on this site accurate and current, but we cannot promise that it is complete, up to date or free of errors, or that the site will always be available or free of interruptions. The site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," to the extent the law allows.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, DAT Finance and its owner, employees and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss that results from your use of, or reliance on, this website. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing here limits what we owe you under an engagement letter, which sets its own terms.
Email and electronic messages
Email and web forms are not a secure way to send sensitive information. When you write to us, you accept that messages sent over the internet can be intercepted. We will reply to inquiries by email or phone using the contact details you give us. A reply to a general question is information only, and is not advice for your situation.
Access to the site
We may suspend or end access to the site, or to any sign-in area, for anyone at any time, with or without notice, if we think these terms have been broken or the site or its users may be at risk. We may also change or remove pages without notice.
If part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest stays in force. If we do not enforce a term right away, we have not given it up.
Intellectual property complaints
If you believe something on this site copies your work without permission, write to us at the address below with a link to the page and a description of the work, and we will look into it promptly.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute about the use of this site will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Ohio, and you agree to their jurisdiction.
Changes
We may change these terms or the site at any time. The date at the top shows the latest version. Your continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
